Journey in the Yawanawa lands of the Amazon
19th of December to 1st of January 2012
19th of December to 1st of January 2012
Matsini Yawanawa and his community are sending us a special invitation, to enter into the extravagant year of 2012 with Peace and Wisdom of the indigenous way of life anchored in our hearts.
The Yawanawa have cherished their lands, animals, plants, stones and waters with unique care for generations and generations. They believe humans are not owners of the Earth, that the spirits are the best guardians of Nature and that humans have the responsibility to pray and concentrate to heal their relation to the planet.
The Yawanawa lands are localized in the very sacred Amazon, closed to the Peruvian border in the Acre, Brazil. The Yawanawa are about 700, living in 7 different villages. We will be welcome in one of the oldest one called Mutum. Matsini, a young spiritual and political authority of his community, will guide the journey. His sister Hushahu, first woman of the people to enter the ascetic path of shamanism (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTM8MyJXbnE) and Tata, one of the oldest living ‘libraries’ of the Yawanawa tradition, will accompany the spiritual ceremonies. Solen Mukhande, yoga teacher and initiated in the Yawanawa tradition will facilitate the gathering with body work, spiritual counseling, translations and highlights on the Yawanawa knowledge. The number of visitants will be of maximum 15. There will be opportunities for individual therapeutic processes.
A story is recorded in the mind of our hosts: it is the one of a Yawanawa prophet that had envisioned the day where the people would have to meet the White. The prophet added that both people would have the opportunity, at one point, to really exchange and share knowledge, in order to collaborate for a greater purpose. Matsini believes this time has come.
